2 Dogs, 1 Mace, and a Kettlebell
…oh, and a rope.
Buoyed by my efforts yesterday, I was raring to go this morning and was up even more usual than normal…
…or, equally, it might’ve been because the dogs were going ballistic and woke me up. And as it’s the Monsoon Season and there are more snakes than usual at these times…
In the end, it was something outside our property and as soon as I turned the kitchen lights on, the quiet descended!
Still, up I was and to my credit I was ready to go before 0525.
- 15 minutes rope flow (now I can perfrom a sneak I have more moves in my repertoire and as I’m not necessarily doing the same moves, am enjoying these more: hence the 15 minutes this morning (as opposed to 10 on previous days)
- 3 sets of 40 360s with my new 4 kg mace (20 reps right then 20 left; plus a short break in between)
- 50 H2H swings with a 20 kg kettlebell.
Very humid out there this morning (89% according to our weather-station) and sweaty palms were prevalent.
Another good start to the day!
Food
- Lunch: 230 gr ribeye steak, 1/2 an avocade, 4 duck eggs fried in butter, the 2 leftover boiled duck eggs from yesterday, and the mayonnaise/mustard mix topped up with more mayo and black pepper. à¸à¸£à¹ˆà¸à¸¢ (a-roi: the Thai word for delicious)

- Dinner: To be determined (might be OMAD today, but that depends on whether I’m hungry).
- Edited: I was, so tuna (127 gr), grated cheese (82 gr), mayo, 10 olives, and 10 cashew nuts.
Post-lunch Walk
I don’t know if you’ve read The Glucose Goddess by Jessie Inchauspé, but she talks about the benefits of moving immediately after eating. And by immediately, she means immediately.
Her suggestion is around 10 minutes of movement after a meal. It doesn’t have to be anything complicated: kettlebells, clubs, dumbbells, walking, calf raises if you’re sitting at your desk or on an aeroplane, etc.
“If we sit on a chair for an hour after eating cake, the glucose will accumulate in our body and cause a spike. If we exercise instead, the glucose will almost immediately be used up by our muscles. It won’t accumulate and cause a spike.” (Jessie Inchauspe, Glucose Revolution, Part III Hack 8)

It’s something I do every day (or, if we’re out and about, then it’ll be six days a week), and it’s become a pretty easy habit to maintain.
A 10-minute walk after lunch isn’t exactly difficult, so it’s something I’d certainly recommend trying.
Today’s post-lunch walk was 15-minutes carrying a 15 kg Bulgarian Bag and also incorporated 40 squats during the walk.
