Strong After Sixty
A few years ago, I hadn’t even heard of kettlebells, let alone kettlebell sport.
Since then, I’ve competed twice, made plenty of mistakes, learned a lot, ignored good advice occasionally (and later kicked myself for doing so), and discovered that getting stronger after 60 looks rather less heroic than people imagine.
More importantly, I’ve found something I genuinely enjoy.
This site is where I share what I'm doing.
What You’ll Find Here
You're in the wrong place if you want guru nonsense, or a a dramatic rags-to-riches transformation story, or some life-changing overnight magic wand.
What you will get is me telling it like it is and what’s actually working (and what isn’t).
Training
Kettlebells, Bulgarian bags, clubs, rope flow, mobility, pull-up attempts, competitions, setbacks, and trying not to injure myself.
Food
Carnivore, keto-ish eating, OMAD, blood sugar experiments, and the occasional attempt at behaving sensibly.
Real Life
The honest version. The good days, frustrating days, injuries, recovery, unexpected wins, and the occasional “WTF was I thinking?” moment.

Why I'm Doing This
I’m trying to get stronger, healthier, and more capable after 60.
I’m not a coach (yet, though I am working on it), some goo-roo, or an expert.
I’m just documenting what seems to help me along the way. If some of it helps you too, even better.
Cheers,
Russ
