Rest Day – 21st June 2026
Shoulders still aching from the heavy bag work on Friday and from the 5-minutes Double Half-snatch session yesterday, so took it easy today.
Lunch: pork loin, 4 fried eggs, pig’s toenails, and garlic powder and pepper mayo.

Post-lunch walk: 15-minutes with a 10 kg Bulgarian Bag: mix of front carries (Zercher?) and shoulder carries. 10 squats every 2 or 3 laps, for a total of (I think) 90 squats.
Kettlebell technique drills: 2 x 8 kg, Double Half-snatch – 20 reps only. Too achy.
Dinner: Edam and Gouda cheese with mayo dip, and some salted peanuts.
The Week Ahead
With just 5.5 weeks ago to the NorCal 2026 event, I’ve loosely planned my training for the coming weeks.

Essentially, as it stands, I’m going to stick to 2 x 8 kg bells this week to build up to a 10-minutes session (28th, I hope. Pace will be 12 reps per minute).
Then it’ll be 2 x 10 kg bells and 12 rpm until 10th July, before switching to 2 x 12 kg bells.
The original plan was to already be on 2 x 12’s, but the injury has not only set me back, but it’s also hard to get back into it. Experience tells me it’ll come, and likely quicker than I remember, but we’ll see.
