Rope Flow, Steel Clubs, and the Heavy Bag
It was much lighter this morning so I initially wondered if my watch had stopped but, thankfully, I was on my usual time.
- 10 minutes rope flow
- 5 x 2 minutes (2 min rest): Double steel clubs flow: swipe, pullover, flag press, and outside circles (2 kg clubs and 4 kg for the last set)
- 3 x 1 minute (1 min rest) heavy bag.
Haven’t done the steel clubs flow for some time, so it was nice to get back into it. On the 5th set, I decided to try it with 4 kg clubs and, as you’ll see, my left wrist was failing towards the end.
(Strangely enough, I broke my right wrist when I was a kid, but that now seems to be the strongest: I fell backwards on ice on the way to school and fractured the right wrist and right elbow at the same time. I am right-handed in several things, including writing, playing golf, and a few more things I won’t write here, but I’m left-handed in throwing, a southpaw, etc. I can write with my left hand, mainly due to having to re-learn when I had my rig accident, but my right is the dominant one. Ah well, stranger things have happened at sea!)
Heavy Bag
Glad to see my 7mm carabiner held up. As I mention, I’ve ordered a 10 mm replacement as the 4 chains are a little too thick to all sit on the lower arm, and though it’s probably strong enough as-is, for the sake of $3…

Lunch
250 g ribeye (sous vide then broiled to sear); butter; a cabbage, spinach, and bacon mix; and 4 boiled eggs.

Post-lunch walk: 15 minutes suitcase carry with a 14 kg bell, including 5 x 16 strict press (8 each side) on every other lap.
I doubt I’ll do much else today, so logging it for now.
