Only 4 Strict Presses Today…

A little gutted I couldn’t replicate my personal best of 5 strict presses on my right/weaker side (I broke my right clavicle years ago and it’s not quite up to the strength on the left.

Never mind, though, I’m stronger than I was a month ago.

Today’s training:

I was out the door at 0520 this morning:

  • 10 minutes rope flow
  • 10 minutes of 360s with a 5 kg gada: 1 minute hand/direction switch at 50 bpm. I wanted to do 1 rep every 2 beats but couldn’t sustain it so, on occasion, it was 1 rep every 3 beats. On average, that’s a minimum of 20 reps per minute so 200+ reps on that one.

My triceps were aching after that so I decided to cut it short today. (I needn’t have bothered as they cut the electric shortly after so I couldn’t shower or get on anyway, but hey-ho.)

Microdoses

To get myself up from the desk, I try and do some microdose every hour. (I have varying effectiveness with this, depending on what’s happening with clients and my work.)

  • 0900 – 20 x 2H Swings with a 24 kg
  • 1000 – 20 x 2H Swings with a 24 kg
  • 1100 – 20 x 2H Swings with a 24 kg

Lunch, Post-lunch walk, & Presses

My old favourite again. Same as yesterday on both counts: chicken thighs + veggies in heavy cream, followed by a 15 minute walk.

  • 4 strict presses right side – 20 kg bell
  • 5 strict presses left side – 20kg bell

Then I tried the strict press ‘test’ to see how I got on:

I tried to strict press a 24 kg bell but, nope, not there yet.

  • 20 x 2H Swings with a 24 kg bell

And things you see in Thailand…

Driving home from town yesterday evening… 😀

(Please excuse my singing. I tried to muffle it as much as possible.)
