No More Background Music

No More Copyright Headaches

YouTube keeps flagging my videos because of the background music being copyrighted material, which it is of course.

And in today’s litigious society, I have no desire to go down that path, so it’s music in my head only now. That’s good for me, and also good for you as you can hear the real sounds of nature as I work out: including anything from me.

I did try these earbuds before, but whenever I did overhead work, such as snatches, club 360s, etc., the music would pause everytime my bicep brushed my ear. As you might imagine, this was incredibly annoying.

However, with these particular earbuds (XRound Forge NC earbuds), the solution is actually quite easy:

Over-ear Types Don’t Last

Now before you indundate me with other suggestions, such as the over-ear clip-type, I tried them and broke both pieces in a single session. (Cue the Dumbo and Big Ears jokes…)

The Lenovo Thinkplus earbuds after one kettlebell session. They bravely succumbed in the pursuit of fitness.

Tried them. Failed. And won’t do it again.

Those Lenovo Thinkplus aren’t completely useless. Maybe my wife wants a new set of earrings for Christmas!

Anyhoo, I’m glad the XRound ones seem to be doing the trick.

This morning’s session was 10-minutes rope flow (much better on the overhand sneak this time), some gada 300 attempts (still learning), and as it started to rain, I finished off with a few minutes of a 2 x 4kg steel club combo (no video).

A good way to start the day!

Steel Club Flow Combo

I also finished off with 2 x 4 kg steel club flow combo:

  • Swing to clean
  • Clean to swipe
  • Swipe to flag press
  • Flag press to Inside Circles.

My first time trying this combo-flow with 4 kgs and it’s definitely a step up!
